The design, measuring 3 inches (7cm) in diameter introduces a beginner to simple stumpwork techniques. It incorporates a bit of stumpwork, with raised, textured stitches and threads. Suitable for a beginner to stumpwork who has some knowledge of crewel embroidery stitches.
With this pincushion I have used drizzle stitch for one sheep, a slip of French knots appliqued onto the background for the second and a couched woollen thread for the third. Alternatively drizzle stitch can be used for all three sheep.
Both (see Counting Sheep picture) designs can be done either way! Little wired horns complete the design. A full kit.
