Little round metal tin containing roughly 120 fine n°5 '1/4'') classic dressmakers pins. Their diametre is 0.70mm for a length of 32mm. Highly recommanded for light fabrics.
Dimensions of the box: diametre 4.7cm - thickness: 1.8cm. It opens by a small key on the side, just like a tin of shoe polish.
On the back of the box a label indicates the contents. On the top, the box is covered with a round label is printed with an "indienne" motif, a re-edition of a fabric one printed at the Jouy Oberkampf Manufactory. The motif has been named Coquecigrues.
People automatically think about the printed red characters when evoking Toile de Jouy. However, the production at the manufactory was infinitely richer than that: the floral and geometric motifs printed at Jouy are estimated at over 30 000, whereas the character prints only number around 200 motifs.
