August - Gladiolus and Poppy

Our August embroidery design features the flowers associated with this month; Gladiolus and Poppy. The Galdiolus flower, known also as the sword lily, generally represents moral integrity and courage, yet it is another flower who's meaning changes with the color. The Poppy has a well known connection with remembrance and has long been known to symbolize sleep, peace and death due to the opium extracted from the seed. 

These beautiful luxurious linen embroidery panels are printed in full colour so there's no need to transfer any pattern, you can get stitching straight away! The design is approx 5 inch x 7 inch within a 10 inch piece of linen. You can embroider in any colour palette that you choose, or choose one of our thread packs.
