This cross stitch pattern chart comes from the large pattern chart created by Frédérique Crestin-Billet evoking the Bayeux Tapestry.
On both the bottom and top of the Bayeux Tapestry are found borders, sometimes interrupted by the central scenes. Domestic and fantastic animals, sketches and various symbols, sometimes these borders give an impression of being in coherence with the main scene, sometimes they represent a little tale or a fable which has nothing to do with it.
This project was created by exploring this magnificent iconography. On the first line you will recognize agricultural scenes: ploughing, sowing and harrowing. The second and fourth lines represent hunting scenes, while in the fifth line you will recognize the famous fable by Aesop, The Fox and the Crow.
This full-color pattern chart is printed on large A3 sheets of paper. It is presented in a Sajou folder.
